Best SSD Laptops under $1,000 in 2020

Nowadays, SSDs are becoming the standard for laptops, but finding a great laptop with an SSD that sells for less than $1,000 is now a little more complicated. We’re here to help, even if you get a list of the best $1,000 SSD laptops you can buy in 2020.

Until recently, these ultra-fast SSD laptops were very expensive – or offered only small amounts of storage space that really couldn’t be used properly.

But thanks to the development of the technology, more and more companies have recently started offering these SSD laptops at much cheaper prices. Although the storage space is still not comparable to what you could get for the same price from a traditional laptop with hard disk storage, it certainly looks better.

Finally, even a 128GB SSD may be suitable, depending on why you need a laptop. But we try to find as many options as possible and offer you all kinds of delicacies so you can find the perfect product, whether you just want to show movies or play games (or something in between).

So here are the best cheap laptops with SSD for less than $1,000 this year. We start with a simple list, in case you want to choose yours after a quick look at the list. But we also have more in-depth checks if you need to know all the details.

Please note that at the time of writing, all laptops were sold for less than $1,000 USD, but prices will change over the course of the year. Write your own check and personally check all prices – don’t take them for granted. Although, to be honest, prices rarely rise.

In short, the best and cheapest SSD laptops in 2020 are listed here, from the cheapest to the most expensive at the time of writing:

Suction power 5

The cheapest laptop on our list actually offers good value for money, although it is a bit behind schedule and is only suitable for regular tasks such as the Internet, movies and other events that do not require tons of resources (so no games).

But for a really low retail price, you get a high-quality SSD laptop with 128GB of memory, 4GB of RAM and a solid AMD Ryzen 3 3200U processor.

These are somewhat outdated specifications, but if you’re thinking about paying more for three months – the caramel macchiatos (if you get them daily from Starbucks), you can’t really have the highest expectations.

But it’s a decent laptop from the brand I’ve always liked. It behaves well if you don’t throw away too many things at once, so if you get it for regular personal use, it’s perfect.

It has a decent size because it is a normal 15.6 laptop with a Full HD screen. This means you get good picture quality to watch your favorite movies and TV series. You also have an illuminated keyboard, always handy, and an HDMI port if you want to connect it to a larger TV.

It doesn’t have the best battery life you’ve ever seen, but it still offers about 7 hours on a single charge, which is decent.

In general, it’s a good deal if you need a laptop that’s really cheap, simple, durable and fast enough. But if your budget isn’t very tight, it’s best to buy one of the ones recommended below.

Lenovo IdeaPad 3

Lenovo is my way to the brand when it comes to cheap laptops, and this model can be perfect for you if you don’t mind a little less (it’s a 14-inch laptop). However, this format is still ideal to provide the best combination of screen size and portability.

In terms of performance, it is much better than the previous model without being much more expensive. But for extra money you get double the memory (256 GB), 8 GB RAM and a much better AMD Ryzen 5 processor.

Although this model can still not be used for modern games because it does not have a special graphics card, it can easily perform all other tasks that do not require a special GPU. From downloading in seconds to surfing the web, watching movies, writing articles and even playing old games, everything is done quickly.

And even if you get a smaller screen, it still offers Full HD resolution. And the best part is that because the screen is smaller, everything is even more beautiful than on the big screen. So it’s a win-win situation.

For those for whom privacy is important, it has an interesting function: a physical shutter in front of the webcam. That way you don’t have to worry about strangers watching you without your permission.

The battery’s good, but not great. With intensive use you will get about 2.5 hours, but expect it to take more than 7 hours on a single charge. For this price, it’s actually a good deal.

In general, it is a good laptop, sold at a reasonable price, with good performance and extremely high speed, although it does not have many frills.

Acer Nitro 5 – best offer

If you want to stay within budget and get the best value for money at the same time, I don’t think you have a better option than Acer Nitro 5.

It’s a gaming laptop, which means it’s faster and better, allowing you to perform more resource-intensive tasks, such as playing games, editing videos, and so on.

Acer Nitro 5 will be sold by the 9. It is powered by second-generation Intel Core i5-9300H SSD processors (up to 4.1 GHz) and has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD. But best of all, it has a dedicated GPU – and a great one.

It runs on an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GTX graphics card with 4GB dedicated GDDR5 VRAM. This means that this cute laptop can easily handle more modern games. Yes, it won’t lose the latest versions at the highest level, but it will provide a great overall experience.

It’s a full-size, 15.6-inch laptop with full HD resolution and other cool stuff. For example, it has an integrated Alexa, but also a good sound quality that is always appreciated.

Players (but not only) will appreciate the backlit keyboard, as well as the highlighted NitroSense key that emphasizes the WASD and arrow keys – a nice feeling, although I doubt that a player would have problems with the position.

It also has an improved cooling system – which is good not only for resource-intensive tasks, but also for general use. High temperatures shorten the life of the notebook, so extra cooling power is always good.

All in all, it’s a good choice, even for those who don’t intend to play games there (though you never say never!). It has a good big screen, a very good performance ratio and offers a decent battery life: all the ingredients we need for a cheap and solid SSD notebook.

HP Horn x360

He’s a bit of a placeholder, but we decided to include him in the list because he has a lot for and, frankly, little against (especially for players).

The HP Pavilion x360 is 2 in 1, which means it has a 360-degree hinge that allows you to flip the screen and use it as a tablet. This means that the touch screen has capabilities – and the touch screen is also highly responsive.

It also means it’s a smaller laptop. The screen size is 14 inches, which is still decent in my books. Very big for a tablet if you want to view it from this angle.

It is crystal clear (Full HD) yet extremely light and thin. In other words: portable – but powerful.

In addition to 526GB of SSD memory, it also has 8GB of RAM and is powered by a very good 10th generation Intel Quad-Core i5-1035G1 processor.

The biggest potential scam is that it doesn’t have a special graphics card, which means you can’t play modern games, or even perform serious video editing or other tasks that require a GPU.

But for everything else, it’s really great because it offers about 6 hours of video playback on a single charge and up to 9 hours of sharing. These songs are really cute!

Small, light and powerful – it could be the right laptop for you!

ASUS TUF A15 – Editor selection

It’s probably the best laptop on our list. It’s at the top of our budget, although in the end it’s up to you to decide whether or not you can afford it. But if you can do it, do it for this and don’t even look back!

This SSD laptop is a real monster: 16GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti with 6GB RAM Absolutely great performance, making it a very, very good laptop for gaming and everything else you can think of.

It also has a large storage capacity of 512 GB to complete the package and a particularly powerful 90 WHr battery.

It’s a laptop with a 15.6-inch screen and Full HD resolution, but the icing on the cake is that it has a refresh rate of 144 Hz, which means excellent image quality and less blur in games and videos.

It’s a very, very good laptop, and I’ve been using a slightly larger A17 for months, and I’m 100% satisfied with it. I’m sure you’ll do the same if you choose this model, which is well within our budget.

Extremely fast, reliable and with a rugged battery, this laptop has everything you need for a seamless experience, whether you’re surfing the web or playing the latest games.

It also comes with many accessories such as self-cleaning fans, a military grade design, an illuminated keyboard and even an HDMI port if you want to connect it to your TV via cable.

This is a laptop that will probably remain relevant and powerful for years to come – and it will probably continue to work well for years to come. So it’s a product to consider if you can increase your budget.

Why should I choose a laptop with SSD?

A semiconductor hard disk is a high-speed disk. Compared to older high-capacity hard drives, the read/write speed to disk is 10 times faster or even higher for SSDs.

This allows Windows 10 to start up in seconds and everything else to run as smoothly as possible, from file transfer to read/write operations, everything goes much faster.

Combine this extra speed with robust features such as the notebook computers recommended above and you have the highest speed at your fingertips. Make sure you choose a laptop with an SSD instead of a conventional hard drive, even if you have slightly less memory.

While SSDs were quite expensive and scarce in laptops a few years ago, they are now widely used and available at lower prices. The situation is expected to improve over the years and become increasingly available as traditional hard disks become obsolete.

With all this in mind, you now have everything you need to choose the best SSD laptop for 2020. At the time of writing this article, you have options for all prices below $1,000, so choose the one closest to your budget.
