What are the best LTE tablets and what are they for? In our modern society, we cannot imagine a day without technology. Many people like to listen to music, watch videos, play games or even work every day. Today, most of these actions can only be performed online. What if you are in an area where there is no free Wi-Fi? Just sighing and listening to the birds, and it’s certainly not a bad option. But with LTE tablets (short for Long Term Evolution), you can listen to or watch your favourite programmes anywhere.

Only two small things are needed to deploy LTE. A tablet with a SIM card slot and your operator’s tariff plan. And don’t forget: The LTE option is always the most expensive. The road to a good LTE shelf is not easy, it is long. This is why our team has compiled a list of the best LTE tablets of 2020.

Consider using boards that support 4G LTE and are SIM card compatible.

1. Apple iPad Pro 2020 with LTE

iPad Pro 11 inch

It’s expensive, but it’s also the best shelf on the market. You can get it with the Cellular option, making it even more expensive, which is normal for the course with all tablets. If you get it with a SIM card, you still can’t make or receive calls, but you do have access to the internet wherever you go. Maybe no phone calls, but you can use WhatsApp, Facetime, Messenger, Zoom, Skype, Hangout and more.

Building

The first LTE compatible tablet on our list of top LTE tablets is the iPad Pro. This expensive board measures 9.75 x 7.03 x 0.23 inches and weighs 1.04 pounds. It’s a big device, but it’s not that heavy. If you keep it in your pocket, you won’t feel any difference in weight. It has a metal outer shell that also fits. This shelf is available in two colour variants – silver and space-grey. Overall, it is pleasant to hold and all buttons are well placed.

Display

This tablet has a relatively large IPS Liquid Retina display with a high resolution of 2388 x 1668 pixels. The colors are perfect – vivid, fairly saturated. It can be used outdoors without any problems because it has a brightness of 600 nits. With this beautiful screen and the LTE option, you can take your favourite movies, books and comics with you wherever you go.

Battery

The 11-inch iPad Pro has plenty of battery life. It takes about 10 hours on a single charge. With the included 18 W charger, charging takes about two and a half hours. These features allow you to use your tablet all day long and even more if you’re not doing demanding tasks. A flash charger must be used for charging.

Audio system and cameras

The sound is produced by four loudspeakers arranged on different sides. This gives you a stereo effect. The sound is loud and clear, the speakers do not distort at high volume. To connect headphones or a headphone set, you need an adapter for the Lightning cable, as it does not have a 3.5 mm jack.

There are three cameras on the back of the tablet, of which the most important is a 12 MP camera. Others are designed for larger lenses and have a slightly lower quality of 10 MP. You can use it to take great photos with precise details and vivid colors. The front camera is 7MP, which is also very good. They can take some cool egotists with them. It is also used as a FaceID scanner. But what about making videos? The main camera can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. And with the front camera, you can use FaceTime or zoom in on conversations with friends and family.

Storage

Apple has designed this product with multiple internal storage options. You can choose from four options: 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. This wide range may be due to the lack of a MicroSD card slot. With all these internal storage options, there is only one RAM option – 6 GB. Of course, the price is higher if you choose a larger internal memory.

Processor and power

This tablet features a powerful Apple A12Z Bionic processor with octa-core graphics. With this chipset you can have a smooth experience. On this tablet you can run the hardest games – PUBG Mobile (on ultra graphics), Asphalt 8. Drawing and handwritten notes are not difficult either. Surfing the internet and getting to know the characters from your favourite movies or books becomes easier. This tablet is available in two variants with only LTE and Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi, they differ in price. But judging from these great specifications, the 11-inch iPad Pro can certainly be considered one of the best LTE tablets and an excellent replacement for the laptop in combination with the Magic Keyboard.

2. Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Best Android tablet with LTE

samsung galaxy s7 plus name tag

The S7 and S7+ are the best Android tablets to date. Of course, if you buy it on LTE, you can use it to call. Unfortunately it is not equipped with an earpiece, so you will have to bring a headset to make calls.

Building

This latest Samsung S7 tablet measures 9.99 x 6.51 x 0.25 inches and weighs 1.1 pounds. It’s not big, it works often, you’ll feel like you need more, but on the other hand, if you relax and watch the media on your couch, you’ll also want it to be smaller. If you need more, Samsung has a solution: the S7+.

Display

At a resolution of 1600×2560 pixels with a ratio of 16:10. (Density ~274ppi) The S7 model has an LTPS IPS LCD screen, but the S7+ model has an AMOLED capacitive touch screen, if you hold them right next to each other – there’s a difference. The AMOLED screen is much better, with brighter colors, but there is nothing bad to say about the S7 screen, it is still majestic.

Battery

The S7 has a large battery – an 8000 mAh Li-Po battery, it is not removable like most tablets. It can take up to 9.5 hours in energy-saving mode. On average we enjoy 7 hours of battery life, including watching HD video, full brightness, etc. 0 to 100 in 2.5 hours.

Audio system and cameras

It has excellent speakers and excellent sound quality. It also does not support a 3.5 mm headphone jack. As with most tablets, we don’t think it’s cheating, so the fewer threads the better. Most earphones and headphones are already equipped with Bluetooth anyway. The four-speaker system provides quality sound and is very powerful. If you’re watching a movie or making a video call, believe me, you need about 50% volume. Anything beyond that is outrageous.

It is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera in the rear and a 5-megapixel camera in the front. You can take some nice pictures with this camera. It doesn’t look like a professional camera, but if you want to play the Instagram game, that’s fine. It’s not the camera, it’s the person taking the pictures. A good photographer can do a good job even with an old camera.

Storage

The working memory depends on the memory. You can get 6 GB RAM with a 128 GB tablet and 8 GB RAM with 256 GB and 512 GB with 8 GB RAM. We performed several tasks on the device and never thought we would need more RAM for the device (6 GB). If you work with more demanding applications such as Photoshop, this 8GB may come in handy.

Processor and power

This tablet uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ chipset. It is currently one of the best chipsets for mobile devices and tablets on the market.  It has an octa-core processor (Kryo 585) and an Adreno 650 GPU. The same chip can also be found in Galaxy Note 20. It also supports 5g (S7+ model only). The tablet has never been delayed during our tests. We were able to switch from dex mode to standard mode without any problems or delays. If you’re a big multitasker, you won’t feel any interruption with the galaxy’s S7 tab.

Specification

  • OS : Android 10, 1 IU 2.5.
  • Processor: Octa-Core (1×3.09 GHz Creo 585 and 3×2.42 GHz Creo 585 and 4×1.8 GHz Creo 585)
  • Storage : 128 GB to 512 GB
  • RAM: 6GB – 8GB
  • Camera : Rear – 13 MP, f/2.0, Front – 5 MP, f/2.2
  • Graphs : Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865+
  • Screen: 11 inch, 12.4 inch
  • Resolution: 1600 x 2560, 1752 x 2800
  • Dimensions: 9.99 x 6.51 x 0.25 in., 11.22 x 7.28 x 0.22 in.
  • Weight: 1.1 pounds, 1.27 pounds.
  • Login : USB-C port
  • Battery: up to 9.5 hours.

3. Apple iPad Air 4

apple-ipad-air-4-2020

The big surprise of the end of the year 2020 for Apple. The new Apple Air 4 iPad. She surprised everyone with her new A14 Bionic processor, much talked about, and suggested it will be used in future MacBooks. You can also use the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil 2 with this device. Unfortunately, with the Apple Air 4 iPad. Generations neither make nor receive calls.

Building

The iPad Air 3 is a mid-size budget tablet that measures 9.75 x 7.03 x 0.24 inches and weighs 1.01 pounds. It looks like the iPad Pro and even looks like it, but it’s a little lighter.

Display

The Retina monitor measures 10.9 inches and has a resolution of 1640×2360 pixels (~264 ppi density). This screen is also laminated, so there is virtually no space between the thinner glass at the top and the LCD panel at the bottom. This feature really brings out the colors and gives you deep blacks. The use of this shelf outside will be excellent, because it is very bright. With this device, watching movies and reading books is no longer a problem.

Battery

Most iPads today have the same 10-hour battery life. The iPad Air also has this function. You can use it until 10:00. Of course, the battery will discharge faster in more demanding applications and constant use of WLAN or cellular data. With the supplied Lightning cable you can charge your device from 0 to 100% in two and a half hours. That’s pretty decent.

Audio system and camera

It is not surprising that there is no 3.5 mm plug, which makes sense for the latest shelves. The speakers are incredible, you can listen to music, it’s pretty loud and clear of course. You can even feel the bass.

The Apple Air is equipped with two cameras, one with 12 megapixels in the back and one with 7 megapixels in the front, for video calls and sales. You can record video at a resolution of up to 4K and 60 frames per second. There is no flash or LiDAR sensor like the iPad Pro model.

Storage

There is no extra card slot, no surprises and you can choose between a 64GB and a 256GB device. If that’s not enough, there are always cloud storage services like iCloud.

Processor and power

On this new Air model the A14 Bionic processor is an important step forward. This resulted in a 40% increase in the performance of the tablets (processing tasks). It’s an incredible improvement. The new chip made a lot of noise. Apple has announced a competition for its own product, the iPad Pro. He can handle very demanding requests. We weren’t interrupted by a single delay during the investigation. The proposal was about multitasking. Unlike its predecessor, the iPad Air 3. The overall performance is better than expected.

Technical data

  • OS: iOS
  • Processor: Bionic Processor A14
  • Storage : 64GB, 256GB
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Camera: rear 12MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/3-inch, 1.22µm, dual-pixel PDAF, front 7MP, f/2.0, 31mm.
  • Display: 10.9 inches
  • Resolution: 1640 x 2360 Pixel
  • Dimensions: 9.75 x 7.03 x 0.23 inches (247.6 x 178.5 x 5.9 mm).
  • Weight: 471 g (1.04 lbs)
  • Ports: Type USB-C + magnetic connector
  • Battery: Up to 10 hours
  • Communication : Wi-Fi and LTE
  • The phone calls: No

4. Apple iPad 8

the best apple device for watching movies is the apple ipad 8 2020.

It’s not the Apple iPad Air, it’s not the Apple iPad Pro, it’s just the Apple iPad. It’s by far their cheapest pill. For general use, it has incredible performance. With the new Apple iPad of the 8. Generation, you can’t call. You can use your mobile data to make video calls via Facetime, Zoom, Messenger, Skype and more.

Building

Let’s talk about construction: The iPad 8 measures 9.87 x 6.85 x 0.30 inches and weighs 1.08 pounds. We know it’s their cheapest tablet, but when you hold it in your hands, it always feels like a premium tablet. It is a very solid and well-designed board.

Display

10.2 Retina IPS LCD display. Resolution 1620 x 2160. The screen is not laminated. It’s a little brighter and more reflective than Air of Pro. The fact that it is not laminated means that there is a small gap between the glass and the screen. This gives the impression that there is a slight delay in finger scrolling. You’ll feel it most when you use the Apple Pencil.

Battery

Most iPads today run on the same battery – 10 hours. The iPad 8 is no different. It takes up to 10 hours, with an average useful life of about 7 hours.

Audio system and camera

It’s got two speakers downstairs, just like the Air. Unlike the iPad Pro. The sound is decent. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is retained.

The iPad 8 is equipped with two cameras just like any other tablet. The main or rear camera is 8MP and the front camera is 1.2MP. Don’t let the deputy scare you. You can make video calls and make video conferences with this device, the picture is not too bad.

Storage

No card slot, of course. The 32GB model comes with 3GB RAM and the 128GB model also comes with 3GB RAM, if you need more you should look at the Air or Pro models. The tablet does not slow down when multitasking.

Processor and power

The most important improvement over the iPad is the previous generation processor. This is an important update. He switched from the A10 Fusion processor to the A12 Bionic processor.

It is an excellent budget tablet with an LTE option. It’s ideal for users looking for a mid-range tablet – school, notes, email, web browsing, news, videos, movies and more.

Technical data

  • OS: iOS
  • Processor: Bionic Processor A12
  • Storage : 32 GB / 128 GB
  • RAM: 3GB
  • Camera : Rear – 8MP, f/2.4, Front – 1.2MP, f/2.2
  • Display: 10.2 inch
  • Resolution: 1620 x 2160 Pixel

  • Weight: 490 g (1.08 lbs)
  • Ports: Lightning, USB 2.0
  • Battery: Up to 10 hours
  • Communication : Wi-Fi and LTE
  • The phone calls: No

5. Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 lite

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Building

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a budget tablet measuring 9.63 x 6.07 x 0.28 inches. This tablet has a metal casing that makes it even more luxurious. But this material makes the board a little heavier than expected at 1.03 pounds. It is available in three colours – oxford grey, angora blue, rag pink – not all colours are available in all areas. The advantage of this device is that it comes with an S Pen. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, it does not have a storage slot for the pen. This shelf allows you to magnetically attach it to the right side of the device.

Display

This tablet has a 10.4-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels. It differs from the unlit tablet in that it does not have a better AMOLED display. But the quality of the screen is good and clear. You can also use it outside without any problem. The colours are different, but sometimes you see them as a blur. With a large screen, decent quality and good brightness, it can be an excellent device for watching movies or reading books.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a 7040 mAh battery that you need to recharge regularly. This tablet will last all day while you’re watching videos, listening to music, reading or doing work. You must use a USB-C charging cable to charge this tablet. But with the supplied 15W charger, full charging can take some time.

Audio system and camera

There are two speakers at the top and bottom that create an amazing stereo effect. They give quite a lot of bass and can play very loud music. But there is another side to this trait. When you play at the highest volume, it seems to crack a little. To connect headphones or earphones, make sure they are compatible with the 3.5 mm jack.

This tablet has two cameras, the main camera is located at the back and has a resolution of 8 MP. Pictures taken with this camera get a bit blurred and sometimes even a bit grainy. The 5 MP front camera is ideal for solo recordings and video calls. But you probably don’t take as many pictures with this tablet as with your phone.

Storage

This device has two storage options: 64 GB and 128 GB. Both are equipped with 4 GB RAM. But don’t worry, if you want to increase the internal storage capacity, you can always add a MicroSD card that can hold up to 512GB.

Processor and power

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is equipped with an Exynos 9611 processor. And the performance is exactly what you would expect from a budget table. There is no significant offset or freeze, but you may notice a slight delay when moving from one application to another, when opening and when scrolling up and down. This tablet is especially suitable for tasks where there is little demand. Some games with high graphics can’t run at all on this device, but some can run with the lowest graphics. All in all, it’s a tablet for entertainment – watching movies and listening to music – and its biggest advantage is that you can take it wherever LTE is available. These properties make this tablet one of the best LTE tablets.

Technical data

  • OS : Android 10
  • Processor: Samsung Exynos 9611 Octa-Core 1.7 GHz Processor
  • Storage : 64GB / 128GB
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Camera : 8-megapixel front camera with rear bandwidth and 5-megapixel resolution
  • Display: 10.4 inches
  • Resolution: 2000 x 1200
  • Dimensions: 243 x 159 x 7.1 mm
  • Weight: 1.02lbs|459g
  • Battery: Until 1:00 p.m.
  • Communication : Wi-Fi and LTE
  • The phone calls: Yes

6. Microsoft Surface Go 2

Microsoft Surface Go 2

If you plan to use Microsoft Surface Go 2 to make phone calls, you won’t be able to do so. You won’t be able to get them either. The connection to the mobile phone is for data transmission only. Of course you can also make calls and even video calls via Zoom, Skype, call numbers and more.

Building

The design of this tablet is very similar to Surface Go, which means it is a slightly smaller and lighter version of Surface Pro. The Surface Go 2 measures 9.65 x 6.9 x 0.33 inches and weighs 1.2 pounds, and is mainly made of aluminium. This device has only one color option, platinum. Judging by the affordable price, you get a very good quality of construction.

Display

This device has a slightly larger display than its predecessor, the Surface Go. This screen has a resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels. This feature offers high quality, amazing color contrast and much more. This tablet has a brightness of 220 PPI. Of course it doesn’t come close to the Apple iPad Pro, but it is suitable for outdoor use.

Battery

This tablet has a standard battery that can last up to 10 hours. So it holds up effortlessly, even on long flights. It takes just over an hour to load your tablet. And to charge, you need to find a USB-C type charger.

Audio system and cameras

This shelf is equipped with 2W Dolby Audio speakers. They’re not the best, but they offer us a pretty great trip. For more comfort, however, we recommend purchasing a 3.5 mm earphone or headphones.

There are two cameras on that tablet. The rear camera has a capacity of 8 MP and Microsoft has implemented a document scanning mode. So you can easily take your documents with you wherever you go, without extra weight. The front camera has a resolution of 5 MP. But what about the actual quality of the camera? They deliver clear and detailed results, so video calls are no problem.

Storage

This shelf offers two internal storage options. The first has 64 GB internal storage and 4 GB RAM, while the second has 128 GB internal storage and 8 GB RAM. Of course, both are sold at different prices. There is also a third option that is different from the others. There is an LTE version with 256 GB of internal storage and 8 GB of RAM. It’s the most expensive option.

Processor and power

The Core M3 processor cannot track the performance of other surface tablets. But judging by the good price, it’s good. In general, this tablet has the disadvantage of a slow execution. For example, it took 20 seconds to open Adobe Lightroom compared to just 2 seconds on the iPad Air. However, this tablet can easily be used to surf the internet, watch movies and work. And with the incredible LTE option, you can take your work wherever you go. These properties have earned this board a place in the list of the best LTE planks.

Technical data

  • OS : Windows 10 Home in S mode
  • Processor: Intel Core m3 processor of the 8. Generation – Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y
  • Storage : 64 GB EMC or 128 GB SSD
  • Taran: 4GB – 8GB

  • Dimensions: 9.65 x 6.9 x 0.33 inches (245 x 175 x 8.3 mm; W x D x H).
  • Weight: 553 g (1.22 lbs)
  • Connection: 1 x USB-C®, 3.5 mm headphone jack, 1 x surface mount Port⁶, MicroSDXC card reader
  • Battery: Up to 10 hours
  • Communication : Wi-Fi and LTE
  • The phone calls: No

7. Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 #Best Budget LTE Tablet

galactic tablet a7

It is one of the few budget classes we can really recommend. Of course, it can’t compete with high-end devices like the Galaxy Tab S7 or iPad Pro, but if you’re looking for a mid-range tablet for web browsing and other entertainment, it’s worth it. If you’re wondering if you can make calls from your Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 tablet with LTE technology – yes, you can. This is a very solid budget class tablet from Samsung, released in October 2020.

Building

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 measures 9.75 x 6.20 x 0.28 inches and weighs 1.05 pounds, about the same weight as other devices in this category. Unlike other plastic planks (e.g. Amazon fire) it is more expensive.

Display

This screen has a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels. The display may be better if the viewing angles are significantly reduced when the brightness is less than 50%.

Battery

It uses a 7040 mAh Li-Po battery that cannot be removed. On average it can take up to 13 hours and takes about 9 hours.

Audio system and cameras

In general, the sound is favorable compared to high-end devices, but given that this is an economy class shelf, the sound is decent. Just watch movies and hear everything clearly, and use it for video calls and understand what the person on the other side says, but it’s not enough to really appreciate the music.

There are two cameras on that tablet. The rear camera is 8 MP and 5 MP at the front, which is also responsible for unlocking the tablet, there is no fingerprint scanner.

Storage

It includes 3GB RAM and two storage options – 32GB or 64GB. It is possible to add a memory card – microSDXC. This could be useful. You can transfer certain data to the map to make the tablet faster.

Processor and power

Tab A7 uses a Snapdragon 662 chipset with 3 GB RAM. It’s slower than some high-end devices. You may notice a delay. There is a slight delay in the search for applications or in the transition from one application to another, but we are talking about milliseconds here.

If you are looking for an easy tablet to browse the web, use Gmail, chat with friends and watch videos, then the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 is the perfect choice.

8. Lenovo Tab M8 HD

Mesh board m8

Lenovo with a long life battery and SIM card slot. When we mention this tablet on our blog, we always remind our readers how high quality it is. It’s about $100, but if you hold it in your hands, it feels like a $500 tablet.

Building

It is very sturdy and looks like a high-end shelf measuring 7.84 x 4.80 x 0.32 inches and weighs just 0.67 pounds, making it the lightest LTE shelf.

Display

It has a 1280×800 screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a density of ~189ppi.

Battery

The 5000 mAh Li-Po battery lasts up to 23 hours, which is impressive. You can use it for days and forget to recharge. The average useful life is approximately 14 hours.

Audio system and cameras

Two Dolby Atmos speakers. We have to admit that the sound is slow, you won’t enjoy the music on this device. There is an audio connection on the unit. It’s not terrible, it’s just frustrating, getting stakeholders can solve this problem. In conversations you can clearly understand the other side, no problem.

Storage

There are two possibilities: 2 GB and 16 GB memory or 3 GB RAM and 32 GB memory. There is a reserved slot for a memory card – microSDXC.

Processor and power

Equipped with a 2 GHz MediaTek A22 processor. We haven’t had any problems with applications with low demand, but if we try to run applications with a slightly higher demand, it often leads to a crash. We don’t recommend it for multitasking. The device can easily handle simple tasks and applications with low demand. If you plan to use it more, you need to choose another tablet from the list.

We could play a few rounds of Among Us (no delay) but we couldn’t play PUBG, it’s just not designed for games that are in high demand.

Specification

  • Android 9.0 OS Pie
  • Screen resolution 1280 x 800 pixels
  • 32 GB memory
  • RAM 2GB
  • Front camera 2 MP
  • 5 MP Rear view camera
  • Battery life up to 23 hours
  • Weight of 0.67 pounds.
  • Screen size 8 inch

  • Speaker, 3.5 mm jack
  • 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 quad-core processor

Huawei and LTE Tablets – not recommended

You may be wondering why we took the Huawei tablets off the list. Huawei makes a lot of LTE tablets, and we’ve looked at a lot of them, but we’ve had to get a lot out of them because of the trade war between the US and China. Technically, they’re good pills. But with the trade war, those pills are no longer usable. You no longer have access to the Google Play Store from Huawei devices. This means that you cannot use Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive and other Google products.

Of course there are alternatives, but they are only alternatives that may not work forever. It is not recommended to bring a Huawei device.

Frequently asked questions and answers about LTETablets

There are many questions and misconceptions about tablets. Let’s look at the most common ones to clear things up a bit.

Can LTE tablets also connect to WiFi?

Yes, of course, you can connect to WiFi. LTE is just an extra feature if you don’t have WiFi access.

What is the difference between a WiFi tablet and an LTE tablet?

If you have a WiFi tablet, you can only connect to the Internet via WiFi. If your tablet supports LTE, you can also connect it to the internet via a mobile connection with your SIM card. Just as you can access the Internet via your phone, you can now access the Internet via your computer tablet.

Can LTE tablets make telephone calls?

It depends on the tablet. Most Android tablets support this feature. If your card is inserted and your mobile phone data is active, you should be able to make calls if your tablet allows it. Do I need to put LTE on my tablet?

There is a significant price difference between a WiFi tablet and a WiFi + Cellular tablet. If you don’t have WiFi access, an LTE tablet will come in handy. If you plan to use your tablet outdoors and at work and you are the type of person who is always on the go, we recommend an LTE tablet.

Here you will find the best LTE tablets you can rely on. We stay out of our choices and our lists. We recommend that you always ask yourself before purchasing what the purpose of this tablet is. Why are you buying it? Do you even need an LTE tablet? By asking these difficult questions, we avoid the purchase of an unnecessarily expensive pill.

Our recommendation is the Apple iPad Pro with LTE, this is the best you can get and the best budget choice is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7.
